Buying and Selling Guilds

If you read My Gold Downfall then you know my backstory and experience with buying guilds. From the research I've done it seems that people always want to buy extremely low and sell high. The tabs affect the pricing, as does the level. It seems like the Guild level weighs in more than the amount of tabs a Guild has, making it very hard to flip level 1 guilds for a profit. Most of the time people will laugh and sneer at you for trying to make a profit when selling a level 1,  1-6 tab guild. You will most often see people selling these kinds of guilds for a price cheaper than the actual cost to make it.

When you offer to sell a 7 or 8 tab guild, that's when the fun begins. You will be flooded with whispers and probably have a minor panic attack from all the attention! Probably not but you catch my drift.

I learned a way to make a lvl 1, 7 tab Guild. There are only a few areas online that have this information since it is a niche market. Read on to learn how.

For experienced goblins, most of this stuff you read below will look familiar. But for beginners with a hefty satchel of gold, this could be the information you've been waiting for to start you on the way to gold cap! It takes a little bit of work and a good amount of gold, but if your sales pitch is good you can make 5k+ profit per Guild sale.

Before I tell you all the technical information, let me give you some insight on who will be interested in buying a lvl 1, 7 tab Guild.

There are at least 2 kinds of people who would buy this:

  1. A player who does not have the resources or the time to make one, and doesn't mind paying a little extra for the bank alt storage space of their dreams!
  2. A player who has made enough gold to buy what you're selling, and wants to start a guild of their own. For this kind of person you can make a guild from scratch and name it to their liking before putting all 7 tabs on it. If you do, don't be shy about asking for a little extra for the custom name option!
In order to do this repeatedly, you need another guild that is level 5 or higher and does not have 7 tabs. It could be the guild you are currently in, or you can try to buy a lvl 5+ guild and throw it on a bank alt. The second option is preferred if you are trying to keep your methods and motives a secret.

It also helps to have a good 2v2 team, as you need to be friendly to buy the 7th Tab Guild Voucher. With every arena win you get less than 750 rep per win. So it will take you 4 arena wins and 2-3 dailies to get friendly, in any guild. For this trick I would suggest going for 5 wins. In my experience, if you are not a good amount into friendly the Reputation discount may not apply. With Friendly Rep, the voucher should cost 9k.

How to Make a level 1, 7 tab Guild
  1. Get into a guild that is lvl 5+ and does not have the 7th tab.
  2. Get to Friendly Reputation (arena)
  3. Once Friendly, buy the Voucher for 9k
  4. Leave the guild and get into the 6 tab Guild you are selling
  5. Become the GM and apply the Voucher
You can buy multiple vouchers if you are making multiple 7 tab guilds. That way, you don't have to keep getting to friendly each time you need another voucher. Also make sure the guild you are trying to sell has 6 tabs or else the voucher will not work.

Every server is different, so you might only be able to make a little profit from selling 7 tab guilds. It all depends on your server population, the economy, and how many other players are doing this too.

The most informative post I've found on this subject is on Stormspire.net. The link to the direct post can be found here.  You have to read the whole post and all the replies in order for it to make sense, but besides the post you've just read it is the most informative area online that I have been able to find on making 7 tab Guilds for profit.
