Tales Of The Naked Gnome: Part 3

"...sure! Why not? It's not like I have anything better to do."

"Await my letter in the mail. It will tell you everything you need to know." Then she vanished. He wondered if she had logged off or her power ran out, but then he remembered she was in an Arena Queue. (Naked Gnomes have very poor short term memories)

I'm back! Confused and determined as ever!

Hi again.

Once again, my apologies for the break. This time it has been nearly a month! Didn't realize i've been gone that long. It's okay tho, because I'm definitely back and "Naked Gnome Pawn & Loan" is back in full swing!

Well, not full swing. Maybe half-swing.

Well, maybe a quarter-swing? If that's even a word.

I'm trying to figure out whether or not to keep the blog mostly WoW economy based, or just go nuts with it. If I go nuts, there would be content posted all the time and it would be good interesting stuff to read. For me and for my readers.

If I stick to the economy area then I probably will shy away from it again since it became not fun after 2 weeks straight of grinding postings. At my height I was averaging 2 posts a day. I think. I might be lying, but i know it was a lot! I distinctly remember posting 5 new topics in 3 days. That at least is a definite truth, and I'm too tired to check on the other thing. But I digress.... (If I'm using that word right)

I wrote the new segment of "Tales of the Naked Gnome: The Whiptail Prohibition Part 3", which will be coming out in the next 48 hours. So stay tuned, thanks for the support and page views, shout out to the one commentator I've had in my month of dead time! Wowporady is good peeps in my book, even if he did misspell lots of crap!

Leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail to assist me in my conundrum. Should I write what people want (that i'm mildly interested in), or should I write what I want (which people will be vigorously interested in).

Let me know what you guys think!

Tales of the Naked Gnome: The Whiptail Prohibition (Part 2)

This is part two of "The Whiptail Prohibition". To read part one, click here.

.... and stood face to face with a Shadow Priest. She looked like a very good looking Draenei, if that's possible.

"So, I heard you were looking for some Whiptail?" she asked in a creepy voice. Flustered, the Naked Gnome said "Whiptail? Whaddya mean Whiptail? I don't have any of that! It's illegal!"

For-Profit Guilds: Dealing With Mergers and Maintenance

(Picture from Here)

I know that some people start a guild just to make gold from the "Cash Flow" Guild Perks or the Challenges the guild completes. This post is for those people, or anyone else who is thinking about starting a For-Profit Guild.

Glyphs: A Beginner's Guide

Everyone who plays World of Warcraft should know what a glyph is and what it does. Here's an excerpt I found from Wowpedia: "Glyphs are spell and ability enhancements created by Scribes. Until used, they're not soulbound and can be traded or sold."

Leveling Kits: A Beginner's Guide

I'm just getting into this market myself, and have seen a couple blogs write about it over the years. Time to put my own spin on it!

Profession Leveling Kits. You know they exist and you've seen them barked in Trade chat a few times. A leveling kit is a collection of items that will get one profession from level 1-525. My server hasn't seen much of these over the years, but I was recently asked if I could put one together. There are a few things you should know about this market before you get into it.

It is definitely a niche market. Most people will farm for the mats, buy them out of the AH, or ask friends and guildies for help. The people who mainly use these don't want to spend the time looking for a good guide and getting all the stuff together. I've come up with a few ways of getting the mats together, finding your buyers, and efficient methods for making the sale.

Leave Trade Chat for Trade: Say No To Trolls!

Recently on my server there has been an increase in Troll activity in Trade Chat. There's nothing wrong with wanting to troll (other than the fact that it's mean), but I've noticed this kind of trolling happening a lot lately.
  • [Player]: WTS Maelstrom Crystals! 200g each. PST for more info
  • [Troll 1]: wts Maelstrom Crystal. 199g 99s 99c
  • [Troll 2]: wts Maelstrom Crystal. 198g 99s 99c
  • [Player]: WTS Maelstrom Crystals! 190g each. PST for more info
  • [Troll 3]: WTS Maelstroms! 189g each
  • [Troll 4]: wts Mallies. 1g
  • Etcetera
Granted, World of Warcraft has had trolls since it came out in 2004. They have gone from Trade Chat to Barrens and back. I guess it's okay to log into an MMORPG and have fun pissing people off if that's what you want to do, but I'm pretty sure 8 years of constantly having to ignore people is a bit much. That's why I came up with a very good idea!

Business Idea: We Sell Your Stuff On The AH

(Picture from here  )

I've recently been working on getting an Ebay Seller's Account. I have lots of friends and family members who have items they want to get rid of, and could use the extra cash. It's not hard to set up, but at the same time it's not so easy either. As I was driving back to my house I noticed a store on the side of the road "We Sell Your Stuff on Ebay!". So it got me thinking.....

If people do it in the Real World, why not do it in WoW!

Sorry For The Delay

Life has been really busy lately and I haven't had time to write or post anything. Rest assured that New articles are coming out soon. There should be 5 new articles up on May 14th to make up for lost time, most likely in the evening. Guaranteed good stuff!

I plan on still making at least 2 articles per day until I feel like the site has enough content for new readers to browse through, since I'm still kinda new to the Gold Strategy Blog scene. Any general comments, post suggestions, or gold making questions can be E-Mailed to me at:

Gold Making Discovery! Wowuction.com

I just recently discovered this very powerful website. Thanks go to The Gold Queen for pointing this out! A tutorial made by her can be found here. I am now off to explore Wowuction.com! Good luck and happy gold making!

Tales of the Naked Gnome: The Whiptail Prohibition

Satire!

Once upon a time in Azeroth there lived a Gnome. This Gnome was very poor. So poor that he had to sell the clothes off his back just to afford repairs. (wait what?)

Flipping Mats: A Beginner's Guide

Flipping items on the Auction House is a very old trick in gold making. Materials have one of the highest turnover rates since every crafting profession uses them! Before diving in on any of the several material markets, it is always good to know some info on what you are selling.

Selling Vendor Items: A Beginner's Guide

Vendor items have been gone over many times on other blogs, but I figured it would help to post one of my own. There are multiple items you can buy from vendors that sell well on the AH. It works because people prefer to pay The Lazy Tax instead of finding the vendor that sells the item.

Buying and Selling Guilds

If you read My Gold Downfall then you know my backstory and experience with buying guilds. From the research I've done it seems that people always want to buy extremely low and sell high. The tabs affect the pricing, as does the level. It seems like the Guild level weighs in more than the amount of tabs a Guild has, making it very hard to flip level 1 guilds for a profit. Most of the time people will laugh and sneer at you for trying to make a profit when selling a level 1,  1-6 tab guild. You will most often see people selling these kinds of guilds for a price cheaper than the actual cost to make it.

When you offer to sell a 7 or 8 tab guild, that's when the fun begins. You will be flooded with whispers and probably have a minor panic attack from all the attention! Probably not but you catch my drift.

I learned a way to make a lvl 1, 7 tab Guild. There are only a few areas online that have this information since it is a niche market. Read on to learn how.

Theorycraft: Are Blizzard Store Pets Stronger Than All Others?

With the release of Mists of Pandaria just around the corner, almost everyone's in a tizzy about what many people are calling "Pandokemon". As most of you have read on other blog sites, stockpiling pets is definitely going to be a good gold making strategy with this new companion combat system coming out.

Assuming Blizzard hasn't changed the way they do things, I've come up with a theory.

My Gold Downfall

(November 2011-Today)

About a month ago, I started looking for a level 25 guild with 7 or 8 tabs...

Vertical Integration

I have seen multiple posts over the years on many gold blogging sites about this. But what does it mean? I found this quote on Wikipedia: "...Each member of the supply chain produces a different product or (market-specific) service, and the products combine to satisfy a common need." This is one of the main ways I make tons of gold in WoW. How do I do it? Lets find out!

Selling Mats on the AH

The first gold making post I ever did is on the Power Word Gold Hatchery. Here is the link. Feel free to also browse through the content on Powerwordgold.net. There's a lot of interesting and good strategies, tips, and tricks on gold making.

Until next time!

The Lazy Tax

Everyone who wants to make gold normally sells things on the Auction House. It could be anything: Crafted items, Rare Pets, Recipes, Profession Materials, Mounts, Vanity Items, etc. In order for anyone to make profit from any sales, people must pay what I like to call "The Lazy Tax".

Introductions

My name is Kaelq. On my server I am the self-proclaimed "Naked Gnome of Stormwind".
I decided to start a gold blog because of the many people who have thanked me for my gold making advice, and a select few who have suggested it. After mulling it over and over in my head, I decided to take the leap. So forgive me in advance if this first post sounds awkward.

This blog will consist of the many tips and tricks that I have learned over the years (including some that I have come up with on my own). I do not take credit for any of the strategies that I post about, as most of them I have learned from other gold blogs. The purpose of this blog is to get the ideas out there, and have them all in one place.

Let the games begin!
